Preventive Medicine
For patients who have never had a serious illness, preventive health care might take a back seat to other concerns in their lives.
But good health does takes effort, no matter what your age.
Preventive health care remains the cornerstone of Dr. Adams' approach to medicine at Coastal Carolinas Health. Keeping our patients healthy means working with them so they may never need treatment, or have greatly reduced treatment needs for such chronic, preventable conditions such as type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
We accomplish this by counseling our patients to adopt a healthy diet and a habit of regular exercise, knowing that eating the right foods and staying active remain the simple keys to a long, healthy life.
Additionally, follow this advice: Know your blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Don't smoke. Stay up-to-date on immunizations and screenings to ensure you are taking those first steps to stay healthy. This allows our office to monitor your health and detect problems early, when they are easiest to treat.
